The Freedom FieldTM to Honor Fallen Heroes

at the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally made possible by

The Buffalo Chip Campground

Hosted by

The South Dakota Patriot Guard Riders.

STURGIS, S.D. (February 10, 2010) -- The Patriot Guard Riders have announced a partnership with the Buffalo Chip Campground to honor America’s fallen heroes during the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.   Members of the Patriot Guard Riders of South Dakota, together with Patriot Guard members from around the nation, will erect a field of US Flags on Buffalo Chip grounds at the beginning of the Rally. The Freedom FieldTM will stand at the west entrance to the ’Chip’ grounds to honor those men and women, their families and communities, who have given so much in defense of our nation’s freedoms.

The Freedom FieldTM will consist of approximately 60 flagpoles flying a state flag to represent all the lost Heroes from each state, plus flags for each military service, and a POW/MIA flag.   Behind this imposing introduction to the field will fly 1000 US Flags on eight-foot poles, each with a tag indicating the name of the Honored Service man or woman.

In order to raise the funds for this years, and future years fields, the Patriot Guard Riders are asking interested people that want to see the field happen, please consider sponsoring a flag to be flown at the field.  Questions about sponsorship of a flag can be directed to FreedomFieldSturgis2010@gmail.com

WHY ARE WE SPONSORING FLAGS IN STURGIS?

Since we do not have major sponsorship and want to keep the cost low we are asking for help from everyone.   Your donation will not only fly a flag for a Hero this year, but for future years as long as the flag remains in condition to fly.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ALL THE FLAGS AFTER THE RALLY?

All the flags sponsored will be flown at the Buffalo Chip and then the Chip will store the flags until 2011.  The tag identifying the Hero you sponsor will remain on the flag for display again next year.

HOW CAN I SPONSOR A FLAG? Each USA Flag will cost $25 to sponsor.   Non-sponsoring donations are gladly accepted for any amount.

Flag sponsorship will be done by either check through the US mail or via Pay Pal.   Check or Money Order Donations may be sent to:

About the Patriot Guard Riders

The Patriot Guard Riders are a diverse mix of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. We don’t care what you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a "hawk" or a "dove". It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is. You don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We invite you to learn more about the Patriot Guard Riders, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, by visiting our website at http://www.patriotguard.org.
